- Ultrasonic Position Sensing Clamps provide accurate and repeatable live clamp position measurements.
- Sensing available for TuffCam Swing Clamps, VersaCam Swing Clamps,TuffLink Link Clamps, and
Block Body Cylinders. - Repeat accuracy of +/-0.002″.
- Allowable maximum pressure of 5000 psi.
- Accuracy unaffected by heat up to 185° F.
- Communication through IO-Link, discrete IO, or analog.
- All components are rated to at least IP67.
- All-in-one Vektek ultrasonic position sensing package available for easy integration.
How does ultrasonic position sensing work?
- The ultrasonic sensor sends an ultrasonic pulse from the bottom of the clamp and the signal is reflected
back to the sensor at the bottom of the plunger. - The sensor measures the return time and gives an accurate position based off how quickly the pulse returns.
- Set up the desired clamping and unclamping ranges using the Data Link System (DLS). Ultrasonic
sensors can also be individually programmed. - During operation, the DLS will send a go signal to the machine if the clamps are in the correct position
and no signal if the clamps are out of position.

Data Link System
The Data Link System (DLS) recieves data from the IO Module and uses it to determine if clamp/unclamp locations and pressure are correct for the loaded program. Tolerances can be separately set for clamp and unclamp.
IO Module
The IO Module recieves data from all IO Link Pressure Switches and Ultrasonic Clamps. Up to 5 Modules can be linked together with the Data Link System.
Ultrasonic Position Sensing Clamps
Ultrasonic Sensing Clamps are offered for Swing Clamps, Link Clamps, and Block Body Cylinders. Live and precise position data.
IO Link Pressure Switch
IO Link Pressure Switches can be used alongside the Data Link System to confirm pressure has been met during clamp and/or unclamp.
